Cory Gunz and Mickey Factz will be coming up to the XXL offices tomorrow (October 27) for a live interview on our weekly UStream show, Spoltlight.
The special Q&A session will air in real-time simultaneously on both XXLMag.com and Channel Live at 4 p.m. EST. Fans are encouraged to hit @XXLStaff on Twitter with their questions for the 2009 XXL Freshman alum.
On Monday evening at the U Street Music Hall, where he was performing as part of a Direct Drive Record Pool event, Factz spoke about the state of the music scene. "Yes, there's a lot of artists out there, but what makes me stand out is that I always share my emotions. Whether I'm happy, sad, glad, mad, you'll always get the music coming straight from my heart."
This is Sean Price tweeting on Duckdown's Twitter, what do you guys think about this? I don't think Mickey Factz is into beef though. Or maybe it's more serious at Cudi, but joking at Mickey Factz?
More details popped up about Mickey's deal. It's a two album deal. As stated before, The Achievement drops in the Fall. The second album supposedly titled The New Museum is to follow next year. If you remember a while back, the names of these albums replaced each other. At one point, The Achievement was suppose to be The Leak Vol. 3: The Achievement. Here is the dirty version of "Paradise":
In 2009, Mickey was laying low, but he's been working on his debut album, withEASports and doing more stuff with Honda. This blog has been ghosting itself for the past few months. Mick's back, and the blog's back. This is going to be a semi-long post, so, keep up.
Back in January, Mickey dropped a mixtape/EP called thedarkphoenix: ALPHA to promote his first single up for sale "Alpha." The project previews the single and blends Mick's rapping skills with the music of French bands Phoenix and Justice. Click here to download it.
Two months later, Mickey dropped his first single "Alpha" on iTunes. Today, the video dropped:
GFCnewyork presents Mickey Factz who brings you his hot new song, Alpha. Directed by Kwesi James and produced by Kwesi James and Alex Bittan. Another production from LOOSEWORLD NYC, edited by Aaron Bennett. Director of Photography by Minka and VFX/Motion Graphics by Ronin/SS.
In addition to dropping the video, he announced his signing to a major label. What label? Battery Records/Jive. Peep it. The debut album is dropping this Fall. To hold people over, Mick's dropping a mixtape called I'm Better Than You next month with great features. Be on the lookout for that right here.
Remember this? Well, Vol. 2: The Return is coming real soon. It features tracks from the time the blog was away and maybe some other goodies. Stay tuned for that!
Shout out to the fans who have rode with Mickey. WE'RE BACK!!!

Jessie Maguire caught up with Mickey Factz in NYC a few days before he signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. Mickey talks about how far he is along with The Achievement, his GFC roster, the “hipster” classification, and more.
In other news, Mickey threw a lot of Roc references around on Twitter. Now, Mickey did not say he was signed to Roc Nation, but it sure does look like it. His follow co-worker Steve-O pointed to it as well. Is it true? No official word yet, but stay tuned to find out.
